Nassau
This high–energy urban escape isn't your typical cruise ship destination. As the largest city in the Bahamas, Nassau has a livelier vibe than many other ports of call. Bustling streets lined with shops, restaurants, and attractions provide action around every corner.

The swashbuckling history behind this island is also fascinating to explore. Head first to the Pirates of Nassau Museum and learn about the city's role during the Golden Age of Piracy. View the ornate Christ's Church Cathedral and then climb the Queen's Staircase, where each step was carved from solid limestone in the late 16th century.

After wrapping up some sightseeing, head into the unbelievably clear waters surrounding the island. Framed by soft–sand beaches, the ocean here remains at a balmy 80ºF year–round. Activities run the gamut from jet skiing and snorkeling to swimming with dolphins.

But just off Nassau is one of the most talked–about landmarks in the area: the sprawling Atlantis Paradise Island, known for its opulent resort amenities.
